Discovery Channel Wings recently put together a a documentary on Dustoff—Helicopter Ambulance operations in Vietnam.

I had the honor and the horror of riding along. As a photographer, my missions involved both still and motion picture photography. Like the scenes from the History Channel series, these are frame grabs from a 16mm film to video transfer. While the image quality is not up to the standards of still photography, the gritty motion-blurred footage is perhaps appropriate to the grim job of retrieving broken bodies from the battlefield.
