During slack time, I ask Chuck to put me on the ground so I could film cutaway shots of smoke being popped and the chopper landing. There aren't many shots you can do from inside an empty helicopter.

I finished a 100ft roll of film and had just reloaded when we got a real call. An Arvin unit had been hit and taken casualties. Immediately we were in the air again and on the way.
