The Hubert Group designs subcomponents to the critical specifications of
the automotive and aerospace industries. Dozens of specialized design terminals
are linked to Hitachi mainframes and peripherals capable of sending, receiving,
and storing massive amounts of design data. More than a simple CAD operation these
systems keep a running account of parts, weights, materials, and even suppliers.
Also, featured in this issue of the Advantage is an article on Bell Sygma, the data processing spin off of a Canadian telecommunications company, and a look at the state of early science education in the United States. The impetous for the education article springs from the community involvement of Hitachi Foundation and Hitachi Data Systems. |
